FREEZE DRYING

The equipment I use is the same high quality the pharmaceutical companies use to make vitamins and such. The flower is put under a vacuum in this specialized machine for approximately two weeks. When placed under glass, and cared for properly, it will last indefinitely.

People have preserved flowers for centuries. When the tombs were opened in Egypt they discovered flowers with a life like appearance. They do not know how they processed the flowers but I think that is amazing. Freeze drying flowers has not been around as long as the pyramids, but it is the best method in our time.

Our equipment is expensive and to do each individual flower is very labor intensive. That is why there are not that many preservationists. Not all use the pretreatments. (There are some flowers that do not need or that you cannot use pretreatments on.) I do use the appropriate treatment for each individual flower. Each bouquet is taken apart. It can be reassembled or just a few of the flowers can be used for a simple display.
